E-liquid calculator
Work out how many nic shots to add to a shortfill, and what your nic salts really cost each week.
This e-liquid calculator does two jobs. The mixer tells you how many 10ml nicotine shots to add to a shortfill bottle to reach the strength you want. The cost calculator uses the cheapest live price for each nic salt range we track to show what a bottle-a-day habit, or a lighter one, costs you.
Nicotine shot mixer
1 x 10ml nic shot (1.00 exactly)
Final strength 3.00mg/ml in 60ml

A 10ml bottle lasts about 5 days
1.4 bottles a week, about £3.63 a week or £15.71 a month
How the mixer works
The final strength is the nicotine you add divided by the total liquid. A 10ml shot at 18mg/ml holds 180mg of nicotine, so one shot in 50ml of shortfill gives 180mg across 60ml, which is 3mg/ml. To hit a target, the calculator solves the same sum the other way round and rounds to whole shots.
Questions readers ask
How many nic shots do I add to a 50ml shortfill?
For about 3mg/ml, one 10ml 18mg nic shot in a 50ml shortfill gives 3mg/ml in 60ml. Two shots give roughly 5.1mg/ml in 70ml, if the bottle has room. The calculator above works it out for any amount.
Can I add nic shots to nic salts?
No need. Nic salts are already sold ready to vape at 5mg, 10mg or 20mg. See the strength guide to choose one.
Why are nic shots only 10ml?
UK rules limit nicotine-containing refill containers to 10ml and 20mg/ml, so nicotine is sold in 10ml shots and shortfills come without it. The UK vape rules guide has the detail.
How long does a 10ml nic salt last?
It depends on how much you vape. Put your daily use into the cost calculator, or read how long a 10ml nic salt lasts.
